The Amstrad CPC 464 (CPC acronym for Color Personal Computer ) is an 8-bit home computer produced by Amstrad and marketed from 1984 to 1990 and was developed to compete with the Commodore 64 and the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. It was one of the most successful microcomputers in Europe. It was sold only in the configuration with an integrated cassette deck and 64KB of RAM: of which 42KB were available to the user. The video signal is reproduced on a particular dedicated monitor (monochrome or color), from which the computer also receives power.
