The so-called Arraiolos point is an oblique cross stitch consisting of two half crosses, one of which is twice as long as the other. These two half crosses, which form a complete Arraiolos stitch, are both made at the same height as the fabric. This height generally covers 2 threads of the fabric, in the direction of its height. Therefore, the longer half cross and the smaller half cross both cover 2 threads in height of the fabric, but in relation to the stitch length, the smaller half cross covers 2 threads and the long cross half covers twice the length, i.e. , 4 wires. The result of crossing the two half crosses is to obtain an oblique cross stitch.
