The Lexikon 80 is a famous standard mechanical typewriter designed by Olivetti in 1949 by Marcello Nizzoli in collaboration with engineer Giuseppe Beccio. The first version, released in 1948 under the name M80, was highly successful, with about 780,000 units produced until 1959, when it was replaced by the Diaspron 82.
This model is an icon of post-war Italian industrial design, recognized for its functionality and elegant design, so much so that it is exhibited in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
